Medium Density Fibreboard is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibers, combining them with wax and resin, and forming panels under high temperature and pressure. MDF is dense, smooth, and consistent throughout, making it ideal for precision machining, cutting, and finishing. It lacks natural grain, which makes it easy to paint or veneer.
You can purchase pre- sized panels from our webstore here or send us your files for us to cut with our precision CNC Routers.
We can cut and etch thin MDF on our laser cutters which can be great for scale models or confirming details before production runs. Laser etching burns the MDF where you want your pattern so the marks are a darker brown than the base MDF colour.
MDF is available in these thicknesses:
- 3mm
- 4mm
- 4.75mm
- 6mm
- 9mm
- 12mm
- 15mm
- 16mm
- 18mm
- 25mm
- 30mm
If you require thicker than this, MDF is easy to laminate with the right glue We recommend Selleys Aquadhere Exterior – Note: Aquadhere Interior doesn’t bond MDF.
