Acrylic

Acrylic Poly(methyl methacrylate) sheet is a lightweight, shatter-resistant alternative to glass, known for its clarity, durability, and ease of machining. It comes in a variety of colors and is commonly used in signage, displays, windows, and various fabrication projects.
It is commonly know by some of it’s trade names Plexiglas (Often Plexi Glass) and Perspex.

Colours

Acrylic comes in a variety of colours and thicknesses:

  • Clear
  • Grey Tint (3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm, 10mm Only)
  • Black
  • White
  • Opal – similar to white but lets light through. used for lightboxes etc
  • Red & Red Tint (3mm only)
  • Blue & Blue Tint (3mm only)
  • Green & Green Tint (3mm only)
  • Yellow & Yellow Tint (3mm only)
  • Orange & Orange Tint (3mm only)
  • Fluro (3mm Only)
  • Mirror (3mm only)

There are some other options available (such as satin finished). Please ask us if you have special requirements.

Some other features:

  • It is available in a bulletproof variety  – we have used this for excavator windows for the forestry industry
  • When heated it can be bent to shape and will hold it’s shape when cooled (thermoforming)
  • It can be more optically clear than glass, and is also lighter
  • It is great for DIYers as it is easy to cut, shape, engrave and bend

Cleaning

Cleaning should be done with a mild soap and a microfiber cloth to avoid scratches. Alternatively well sell a specialist plastic cleaner.
