1. Scope of Services

Axis CNC Routered Innovations Ltd (“Axis,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides CNC router cutting, laser cutting, engraving, etching, and general fabrication services. Our services are tailored to custom manufacturing, prototyping, and production runs. By engaging our services, you (“Client,” “Customer,” “you,” or “your”) agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. These Terms of Service are available on our website at axiscnc.co.nz The web version is the governing version.

2. Quotations & Pricing

2.1. All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
2.2. Pricing is based on the information provided at the time of quoting. Any modifications to the design, material, or quantity may result in revised pricing.
2.3. Axis reserves the right to adjust pricing due to unforeseen material cost fluctuations or errors in the original quote.
2.4. Standard quotes are based on a three-week production timeframe. If the Client requires production to be completed sooner, they must notify Axis at the time the quote is requested. Axis will then provide an appropriate price. If such notice is not given and expedited production is later requested, a surcharge of up to 20% will apply.
2.5. In addition to any applicable urgent fee outlined in 2.4, jobs requested for starting on the same business day will incur a $200 surcharge, and jobs requested for starting on the following business day will incur a $100 surcharge. Axis may decline urgent requests at its discretion, including due to material availability, production capacity, or other operational constraints. Payment of a surcharge does not guarantee same-day or next-day completion; these timeframes are targets only.
2.6 Samples of custom work are charged at our full standard rate, but we may credit up to 50% of the charge if the batch proceeds under the following terms:

2.6.1 You must hold an active account with us, and your account must have a clean payment history.
2.6.2 The batch and sample must be discussed and agreed with us beforehand.
2.6.3 The batch order must proceed within 28 calendar days of sample completion, using the same design.
2.6.4 The sample cost will be credited to your account, and the total batch quantity will be reduced by one to reflect the sample you already have.
2.6.5 If the design changes in any way, or if the order does not proceed within 28 days, no credit will apply.
2.6.6 All sample credits are issued at our discretion.

3. Orders & Payment

3.1. Orders must be confirmed in writing or via an official purchase order.
3.2. A deposit may be required before production commences.
3.3. Payment terms will be outlined in the invoice. Late payments may incur interest or additional fees.
3.4. Axis retains ownership of all produced goods (including digital goods) until full payment is received.

4. Materials & Tolerances

4.1. Customers must specify material requirements before production begins. If no specifications are provided, Axis will use standard materials at our discretion.
4.2. Machining tolerances will be ±2.0mm for general fabrication unless requested otherwise. However, for precision CNC machining, we typically achieve ±0.2mm.
4.3. Natural variations in material properties may affect final dimensions, surface finish, and overall appearance.
4.4. Material thicknesses are nominal.
4.5. We are happy to cut customer-supplied materials as part of our services. However, please be aware of the following terms:

4.5.1. We may charge for storage of uncollected offcuts from 28 days after completion of the job.
4.5.2. After 28 days, we reserve the right to charge up to $10 +gst per m² or part thereof per business day for storage of any uncollected materials unless agreed in writing.
4.5.3. If the goods are not collected within 100 days after completion of the job, abandonment will be assumed and ownership of the materials will transfer to Axis.
4.5.4. Disposal fees may be charged, and you agree to pay these fees along with any outstanding balances.

5.3. By submitting design files, you confirm that you have the legal right to manufacture the design. Axis is not responsible for any intellectual property disputes arising from customer-provided files.
5.4. Customers must ensure that submitted CAD files are in a compatible format. Axis is not responsible for discrepancies arising from differences between CAD software versions, file conversions, or translation errors. Accepted formats: .ai, .cdr, .dwg, .dxf, .eps, .pdf, .svg. Compressed folders are also accepted.
5.5. Files submitted via third-party links (e.g., Dropbox, SharePoint, etc.) will be deleted upon receipt due to security risks. No notification will be given. If you must submit files via this method, you must make prior arrangements with Axis.
5.6. Any required modifications to align with our production capabilities may incur additional costs and affect lead times.
5.7. When Axis produces drawings, CAD files, or artwork for a client, the following terms apply:

5.7.1. The Client must notify Axis in writing of any applicable legal, regulatory, or council requirements that may affect the design or manufacturing process prior to Axis commencing any drawings. Axis will not be responsible for delays, redesigns, or non-compliance arising from the Client’s failure to provide such information in advance.
5.7.2. All drawings, CAD files, and artwork created by Axis remain the sole property of Axis unless a written transfer of ownership is agreed upon prior to commencement of work.
5.7.3. The customer, and any third party acting on their behalf, may not reproduce, modify, or use Axis-produced drawings, CAD files, designs, or derivative works without express written permission from Axis. This includes instances where designs created by Axis are redrawn, altered, or adapted by another supplier. Any such unauthorized use will incur charges for file preparation and intellectual property at a rate of $250 +gst per hour (or part thereof), in addition to any other remedies available to Axis and you agree to accept these charges.
5.7.4. Customers are solely responsible for reviewing and confirming the accuracy, completeness, and suitability of any drawings produced by Axis. Axis accepts no liability for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies once drawings have been approved by the customer.
5.7.5. Drawings provided by Axis are supplied exclusively for the purpose of manufacturing with Axis unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5.7.6. Any requested amendments or revisions to Axis-produced drawings may incur additional charges and may affect project lead times.
5.7.7. Axis accepts no liability if drawings produced by Axis are rejected, delayed, or deemed non-compliant by any council, regulatory body, or other authority. Responsibility for ensuring drawings meet all applicable legal, safety, and regulatory requirements rests solely with the Client.

6. File Confidentiality & Marketing Usage

6.1. Axis will maintain the confidentiality of all customer files and will not disclose them to third parties without prior consent, unless required by law.
6.2. Axis is granted permission to use comments, photos, and video snippets of items for marketing purposes, unless the customer expressly requests otherwise.
6.3. While we implement reasonable precautions to avoid posting identifiable features of customer projects, we cannot always guarantee that such features will not be visible. If you prefer not to have anything posted about a specific job, please let us know, and we will respect your request.
6.4. While we implement reasonable precautions, we cannot control the visibility of customer projects to others visiting our facility.
6.5. Axis is willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) upon request to ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information. For your convenience, an NDA is available here. Please fill in your details and send it to us; we will complete our section, sign it, and return a copy to you.

7. Production & Lead Times

7.1. Estimated lead times are provided on request when an order is confirmed. These timeframes are indicative only. If delays occur due to material shortages, machine downtime, or other unforeseen issues, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible.
7.2. Rush work may be available for an additional fee, depending on our production capacity. Refer to Sections 2.4 and 2.5 for full details of how rush fees are applied.
7.3. We’re happy to work to deadlines provided they allow sufficient production time. Deadlines must fall outside our standard three-week production window to be accepted.
7.4. As a general guide, standard jobs typically require 5–7 business days. Larger or more complex jobs generally require around 15 business days. Work involving outside contractors may take longer than these estimates. Project-based work is excluded from these general timeframes. A “project” refers to any job where the client has not supplied ready-to-cut drawings and we are required to carry out additional work such as measuring, drawing, design preparation, file creation, researching specifications, or interpreting incomplete information. These jobs involve non-production tasks and therefore do not fall under standard lead-time guidelines.

8. Shipping & Delivery

8.1. Customers may arrange their own pickup or request shipping services.

9.4. We do not offer warranties on customer-supplied materials.
9.5. For contract-cutting services (custom parts, not purchased through our website), parts are supplied in a semi-finished state. This may require additional value-add work by the customer such as cleaning, sanding, laminating, assembly, or similar finishing tasks.
9.6. If you require Axis to carry out any of these additional tasks, you must inform us before we quote. Expectations around finished state should be clearly communicated up front to avoid misunderstandings, delays, or additional costs.

11.2. All stated dimensions are nominal and may vary slightly in practice (e.g., a listed size of 2220 mm may measure 2223 mm in reality).
11.3. Customers should exercise their own discretion when relying on website information and are responsible for confirming that products and specifications meet their requirements prior to placing an order.
